« on: July 28, 2010, 07:42:31 AM »
I been scratching my head to pick one.

I know 2 friends of mines that had the iPhone 4 but switch to the Droid.

What would you guys pick, and why please?

Droid X = Verizon
iPhone 4 = ATT

Since you can't possibly get either of them without switching provides, get whichever one is on the provider that you currently have. Don't switch providers just to get the other because they are both great.

Also, be prepared to have your Droid turn obsolete after a couple of months. People always knock Apple for releasing new phones every year, but at least Apple is the only one who can make the current batch of iPhones obsolete. With Droids, there are many manufacturers that can render all current Droids obsolete.

I won't buy a Droid for that reason. I also won't buy an iPhone because ATT sucks. I'm just going to wait. I suggest that you wait for the iPhone 4 attenuation issue to cool off, and to also wait for the Droid market to cool off. Buying things while they are hot isn't always the best idea...

i don't know what the sh!t is all about around the iPhone, it is a bad phone. it is way too expensive for it's features, does NOT have flash of any sort, and you can find better gadgets at lower prices which do 5x what iPhone might do.

imo, DroidX kicks it's ass, i want one, but i don't live in the US, and no mobile service provider has it here. oh and i agree with Andy, the contract will be insane, so if you only buy it to look hip, then get ready to pay a lot every month for 2 years from now mate...

lol. Not mines, there's a plan I'm getting with a family member, hes only paying 65-70, $80 top every month with his Droid.

With free everything, that's not bad! Your paying for minutes but with peeps with same company its free.

Cant beat that.

Agreed. Every time someone mentions it I get angry because it's not a big deal and it happens to every phone to some extent. I only brought it up because some people are reporting that their iPhone 4 replacements have a new coating on it that prevents attenuation no matter how hard you try to lose signal. Might as well wait and see how that plays out.

If I were to pick out of those two I'd get the iPhone.
